“Hi everyone, i’m super excited to share that we are launching a new service called Collections, by Modern Milkman this week. We’ve always collected empties and from this year we’ll start to collect what no longer has a place in the home.
Every household has the same hidden problem.
- A drawer full of old wires and chargers.
- A bag of clothes that no longer fit.
- Cupboards of toys and games that never get used.
As parents and consumers, we care about the world and want to do the right thing, but life is busy, and good intentions often sit in cupboards. Modern Milkman started with a simple mission: reduce waste by changing everyday habits.
As we’ve grown, we’ve realised there are many more moments where households need help turning good intentions into action.

Collections, by Modern Milkman is available to all our customers.
1. Order a collection bag online – It arrives within days
2. Fill it with accepted items – Small electricals, unwanted/ gently loved toys, broken gadgets . For more information on what you can and can’t donate please see here: Electricals and Toys
3. Leave it on your doorstep with your empties
4. We collect it – During our regular rounds, using the infrastructure we already run
5. It will be recycled responsibly by one of our partners.
No special trips. No boot tetris. No guilt about the drawer that won’t close.
Just clear space and the quiet satisfaction of doing the right thing.
What’s next?
Collections launches today with small electricals and toys. Through 2026, we’re expanding: Soft plastics, general metals and other high frequency items . Additional categories based on what households actually need.
The goal isn’t just recycling. It’s building household logistics around how people actually live.
For over a century, the milk round worked because it met households where they were. Reliable, regular, trusted. We’re not bringing it back out of nostalgia. We’re bringing it back because the infrastructure model still makes the most sense.
