Why we deliver milk in glass bottles (and always will)

As conversations grow about microplastics, ultra-processed foods, and what we’re really putting into our bodies, we’re reminded why some traditions are worth keeping.

There’s been a lot in the news lately about rising health concerns, from microplastics found in our bloodstreams to questions about how ultra-processed foods might be affecting our long-term health. It’s unsettling stuff, and as parents, partners, and people who care about what we eat, it’s natural to feel a bit overwhelmed.

We can’t solve everything. But we can control what we do and that starts with the basics.

Glass matters

We’ve delivered milk in glass bottles since day one, and it’s not just nostalgia.

Every bottle is collected, sterilized, and reused up to 25 times before being fully recycled. It’s a circular system that’s been working for generations, long before “circular economy” became a buzzword.

Knowing what’s inside (and where it comes from)

Beyond the packaging, we think a lot about what actually goes into those bottles. Our milk comes from British farms we know by name and there’s only one ingredient, 100% pure milk.

The things we can control

We can’t eliminate every modern convenience or solve every health concern. But we can make considered choices about the hundreds of small decisions that add up:

  • Choosing suppliers who share our standards
  • Rejecting unnecessary plastic packaging wherever possible
  • Delivering fresh, not long-life
  • Building relationships with independent producers who prioritize quality over scale

Back to basics (in the best way)

There’s something quietly reassuring about a doorstep delivery. The basics, done properly.

We’re not claiming to have all the answers. But in a world where it feels increasingly hard to know what’s good for us, we’re trying to make the simple choice the right one.
